Life’s tests happen to us all, but in Christ, they happen for us and not actually to us—it is a matter of perspective. When you see the storm only as an obstacle, it can become a watery grave. So see it as a divine arrangement, and then it becomes a stepping-stone to self-discovery and actualization, much like the Cross of Calvary turned the crisis into victory for Jesus and all of us. Water-Walkers know how to discern crisis moments as camouflaged opportunities, which ultimately reveal the treasure that God has hidden within us. Peter stepped out on Christ’s word, “Come”, while the eleven stayed seated in a sinking ship; but thereby, Peter discovered his unknown potential and started to walk on what other people were drowning in. The test was not the demonic wind and storm, but the true test was their collective apathy—that was the real obstacle. Peter rose above that apathy and became the great exception.
